J&K Students Association, here on today Strongly Condemned the attack on Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) students including its students’ union President Aishe Ghosh. In a Statement, Spokesperson of Association, Nasir Khuehami said that, thrashing of Students without any rhyme and reason is strongly condemnable act. We condemn it in harshest words. He said that, JNUSU President, Aishe Ghosh was brutally beaten up, pictures of which have surfaced, This is totally horrible. The heinous masked attack” on professors and students is “shocking and appalling” he said.
He said that, the police has also blocked several road leading into the campus while the goons are moving around in the campus, freely, threatening the life and security of students and teachers. Student Solidarity in the face of adversities is one of the most powerful ways to counter the state which is hell bent at curbing any and every voice of dissent, he said. What makes it more deplorable reprehensible is silence of Delhi police which failed to protect students and remained silent spectator, he said.
He said that, the JNU Administration has shamelessly blamed the agitating left and democratic organisations for this attack which reminds one of the Reichstag Fire incident of Nazi Germany. This is an attempt to terrorise the ongoing wave of people’s resistance against the CAA, NRC, & NPR, which is being lead by the students community all over India. JNU has always been a center of the resistance, hence the target of the Fascists, he added.
He said that, JNU has always been a centre of lively & vibrant debate, discussion & co-existence of different viewpoints. What has happened today is extremely sad & tragic. We strongly & unequivocally condemn the violence on campus. This is totally unacceptable, he added further. He said that We demand immediate registration of an FIR in this regard and action against the perpetrators of violence in the JNU campus. We demand that the goons who unleashed reign of terror in Jawaharlal Nehru University be identified and a (FIR) be initiated immediately against them.
