Srinagar, June 04 : Hundreds of TikTok ‘stars’ belonging to different areas of Jammu and Kashmir have been left to lurch after the union government banned 59 China based apps including TikTok a few days.

Musaib Bashir a resident of Bemina area of Srinagar told the news agency—that he started acting on TikTok two years ago and around 2 lakh people were following him on this banned app now.

“I have uploaded over 500 videos on my TikTok account and the motive of uploading videos was to entertain people,” he said.

He said that he himself is a content creator and was uploading videos all by himself and people of Kashmir are most disturbed in the world and in order to make them feel relieved for a while he would upload videos on TikTok.

Musaib who is an MBA pass out said that his sole aim was to entertain people so that they can get a sigh of relief for a while as Kashmiris have been going through a lot from the last 3 decades now.

He said that the government should have informed them about banning these apps as we would have informed our fans on which platform they will be available.

Musaib said that a 30-second video is all it took to get famous overnight so people put out all their creativity into it, whether it was comedy or karaoke and it would be very hard to break this habit now.

“For the followers too it won’t be easy from switching from TikTok to any other video entertainment platform,” he said. “The news of banning TikTok has broken me,” he said.

He said that he had just reached a million followers and it had taken him a lot of hard work through these months of lockdown to reach to this mark—(KNO)
