Avalanche sweeps 3 persons in Anantnag, one found alive, 2 still missing

Anantnag, Feb 1 : One person was retrieved alive and two persons are still missing after an avalanche swept them near near Gudkhamb point at Aru in Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Friday.

Official sources said that during snow clearance on Pahalgam -Aru road, the JCB with three persons on board it came under an avalanche near Gudkhamb point.

“One person has been retrieved alive while efforts are underway to find two missing persons,” the officials said.

Deputy commissioner Anantnag has requisitioned helicopter to help in rescue of two missing persons, the officials added. (GNS)
