There is a rift between People of India and people of Kashmir: Amit Shah

Srinagr, Jun 28 : Lok Sabha has passed Jammu and Kashmir Reservation ( Amendment ) Bill, 2019 on Friday after  a very intense discussion which saw Home Minster Amit Shah hitting out at Opposition Congress over the J&K issue, triggering an uproar from opposition in the house .

While tracing back the history, the home minster asked why there is a rift between people of India and the valley. “There’s a rift between people of India and people of J-K and the previous government did not work towards it,” Shah was quoted by Indian Express as having said .

He further justified the government’s decision to launch air strikes in Pakistan and said they were conducted in self-defense. Speaking over zero tolerance policy towards terror, the home minster said the union government would enter Pakistan and wipe out terrorism.

The Bill was introduced in the House on Monday aiming to provide people living along the International Border (IB) in Jammu and Kashmir the benefits of reservation in direct recruitment, promotion, and admission in professional courses on par with those living along the Actual Line of Control (ALoC).
