10-Day Training, Capacity Building Programme on Emerging Technologies Commences in Leh

Leh, March 11: The Information Technology Department, UT Ladakh in collaboration with the National Institute of Smart Governance (NISG), GoI has organised a training and capacity building programme on ‘Emerging Technologies’ for the senior officers of the UT Administration from March 10-20, 2023.

The Advisor Ladakh, Umang Narula was present on the opening day of the training programme.

Addressing the participants Principal Secretary, IT department Ladakh, Sanjeev Khirwar said that the idea behind the training programme is to get a perspective on emerging technologies and how it can be used for ushering in smart governance, process reforms and digitalization to provide effective services to the public.

The training covers a wide range of emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT), Cloud computing, Cybersecurity, etc. The training programme aims to provide participants with an understanding of these technologies and their potential applications, as well as the challenges to provide and facilitate government services, exchange of information, communication transactions and integration of various systems and services for a digitally empowered Ladakh.

During the first day of the training, Satyajit Rao Vagvala, SGM, NISG held an engaging session on Digital transformation, Emerging Technologies and Enterprise Architecture. He spoke on, Response and the Digital makeover in India; e-Governance maturity; Technology- Leverage new technologies and innovation; Capacities/Skilling and change, and Knowledge Management among others.

Muthukumar Subramanian, iSMAC Technologist spoke on Big data analysis, its characteristics, emergence, importance, tools and techniques. He delivered a comprehensive presentation on Analytics model; Artificial Intelligence and machine learning; types of machine learning; supervised and unsupervised learning.

The participants shared their experiences with emerging technologies and how they can be integrated into government operations.

The training programme was attended by all Administrative Secretaries; District Magistrates Leh/Kargil; HoDs, and Chief Engineers.
