652 gms of Heroin like substance recovered

Baramulla, Aug 26: Police on Friday said that it along with army arrested two drug peddlers in Sultan Daki-Uri in district Baramulla.
“Durimg naka checking at Sultan Daki Uri, Police under the supervision of Sh. Junaid Wali-JKPS, SDPO Uri assisted by Inspr. Imtiyaz Ahmad, SHO PS Uri and IC PP Kamalkote arrested 02 drug peddlers namely Mohammad Safeer and Mohammad Saleem sons of Feroz Ali Khokhar residents of Madiyan Kamalkote Uri, District Baramulla and recovered 652 grams of Herion like substance from their possession,” a police statement issued to Kashmir Despatch reads.
It added that a case under NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Uri and investigation have been set in motion.
Meanwhile, locals of Uri especially the residents of Kamalkote and its surrounding areas have hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which according to them is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
“People are requested to come forward with information regarding Drug Peddlers of their areas so that drug menace can be eradicated from the society,” the police statement received by Kashmir Despatch added further.
