Srinagar, June 13: Doctors Association Kashmir has demanded establishment of IIM,IIT and IIMC for Kashmir on the same pattern as has been given to Jammu.
In a statement issued here, under the chairmanship of Dr G M Mir a meeting was held wherein it was unanimously decided that DAK will strive hard till this logical demand is not accepted by the authorities.DAK urges all stakeholders to intervene in this matter so that this serious issue is resolved by the Govt. at the earliest.
“DAK welcomes the step of giving AIIMS to Jammu also so that both the regions will avail quality health care service but to devoid Kashmir of not having IIM, IIT and IIMC on the same pattern as given to Jammu will be catastrophic and worth condemnation,” spokesman of DAK said.
DAK said that it believes in harmony, brotherhood and equality and will be against all those forces who tend to prioritize planning and development agendas on the basis of region and religion.
It has stressed the State as well as the Central Govt. not to do injustice with Kashmiris and declare the setting up of IIM, IIT and IIMC in Kashmir also. There is lot of potential and dedication among Kashmiri students to excel which they have proven time immemorial and with these institutes in our region it will have a huge impact on academic and developmental arena.
Kashmir has always been ignored at various levels in past and such partial agendas will deepen the mistrust and hamper the socio-psycho fabric which already has been affected to great extent by the policies implemented in past.
