Srinagar, June 30 : JKDLP leader Hashim Qureshi Tuesday castigated the state authorities over what he termed the inordinate delay in proving succour to the flood sufferers of Kashmir valley.
Qureshi said Government of India is hell bent to push the people of Kashmir valley towards the brink of a dreadful disaster and that if immediate measures are not taken, the situation could become more turbulent in the days to come.
He termed the Mufti run coalition in Jammu and Kashmir a ‘lame duck’ government saying it undermined the sufferings of the people who bore the brunt of nature’s fury last year in September. “As the governments are formed to address the peoples’ issues in normal situations, it seems that Mufti in the hands of the communal forces has turned handicapped in governing the state. Neither any assistance has been provided to the people whose houses got devastated during the floods nor any damaged public infrastructure was repaired.”
Qureshi also took a dig at the PDP’s parliament members saying that they are completely mum over the hardships being faced by the people of valley at present and even are not raising a single issue that could soothe a little the blighted hearts.
The DLP chairman also expressed serious concern over the delay in proving the relief package to Kashmir valley. He added that in a deliberate move, the people of Kashmir valley are made to suffer so that their dissent could be crushed by denying them what their basic rights are.(KNS)
