Metrological department Tuesday predicted that rains would continue in Kashmir till Wednesday afternoon (September 23). An official from the Met department told KNS that the weather would improve by Wednesday afternoon, however, said that it would be cloudy for the day. Official conformed KNS that upper reaches in Gulmarg and Aparwat received fresh snowfall while as rains continued to lash plains and upper reaches across Valley from Monday evening. With fresh rains, Valley witnessed dip in the temperature to certain degree below to the normal, while as lanes, bylanes and roads in low lying areas of Srinagar and other districts were submerged due to the rain water. Meanwhile, Met department informed that Srinagar from Mondayevening (8: 30) up to Tuesday 5: 30 received 26.0 ml rainfall, while as Qazigund and Pahalgam in south Kashmir received 63.4 and 31.8 rainfall since Monday evening respectively. He said similarly in north Kashmir Gulmarg received 46.8 ml rainfall during this period.
