Minister for R&B, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari Friday said 14 new road projects have been taken up for execution under various sectors in Shopian district at an estimated cost of Rs 36.42 crore. The Minister said this while replying to a question by Showkat Hussain Ganaie in the Legislative Council. Giving details the Minister said that 5 projects have been taken up under NABARD, 4 under state sector and 5 under district sector. He further informed the House that tenders for 54 works were invited under Self Help Groups (SHG) in Shopian district out of which 49 works costing Rs 3.06 crore have been allotted to SHGs while as allotment of 5 works is under process. Minister said the proposal for macadamization of Sugoohindahma, Dobipora, Zanigam, Partappora, Zainpora, Braripora roads has not been approved under any scheme at present.
