A government school building in Chatoosa, Rafiabad, was damaged in the massive earthquake that rocked the state on Monday, posing threat to hundreds of children. Locals in Chatoosa said that the building of Government High School was already damaged by the devastating earthquake of 2005. And because of official negligence the building was not repaired by the administration till now, they alleged “The building got a new shock on Monday when it rattled and got more damaged. The building is now totally unsafe for the school purposes. The staff and the students feel insecure in the building,” they said. A student while talking to KNS Correspondent, expressed his fear, saying: “We could not get proper education in this school because the fear of its collapse always lurks in our mind. Any untoward incident can happen with us anytime because our school building is unsafe and there are several visible cracks in the building,” he said. The students blamed the government for its callousness in repairing the building.
