Urging all secular parties of the state to bring a no-confidence motion against Assembly Speaker Kavinder Gupta, state Congress vice president and MLC G N Monga Friday said Gupta had no moral ground to do so. “The Speaker Kavinder Gupta recently openly participated in right-wing Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh’s route march in Jammu. It is unbecoming of a Speaker to participate in the RSS procession,” he said in a statement to KNS. “Being custodian of the House, he had no moral ground to participate in the rally. He is above politics and party lines, but he joined those people who had swords and guns in their hands,” he said while addressing a Congress workers protest rally in Budgam. “I appeal all the MLAs of secular parties to bring a no-confidence motion against the RSS speaker,” he added. Monga also hit out at the chief minister Mufti Mohammad Sayeed for allowing the RSS march in the heart of the Jammu city. “The rightwing groups want to create fear and strengthen their vote-bank in Jammu. But the right thinking people of the state will give a befitting reply to them as they have been doing right from 1947,” he said. Monga who was flanked by other senior party leaders including Ghulma Nabi Mir Lasjan, Nazir Ahmad Khan, Farooq Andrabi and others, protested in Budgam for half an hour against the RSS march in Jammu where they brandished swords and guns.
