Kupwara has the highest number of orphans and widows and there could be hardly any village that didn’t suffer from past 25 years.
MLA Langate and AIP President Er Rashid Wednesday appealed people of Kashmir to stage a protest on the arrival of Indian Prime Minister and to give a clear and loud message to world community that Kashmiris are not essential commodities who can be used by “fascist” leaders like Narender Modi to mislead the world community and destroy the facts. In a statement to CNS, Engineer Rashid while addressing a series of rallies in North Kashmir condemned “RSS controlled” state administration and asked it to stop terrorising people for making Modi’s public meeting a success. “Kupwara has the highest number of orphans and widows and there could be hardly any village that didn’t suffer from past 25 years. Let people of Kupwara not forget that they had been turning in thousands every year till 2014 to offer homage to late Abdul Gani Lone in martyrs graveyard Srinagar and each of them cutting across political ideologies must think ten times before deciding to participate in Narender Modi’s rally. Any participation from Kupwara in Narender Modi’s public meet will certainly be a dishonour to the sacrifices of late Abdul Gani Lone,” Rashid said and added that the way cabinet ministers have been camping in their constituencies and motivating daily wagers and casual labours to participate in PM’s public meeting, is a clear cut indication that their party cadres are not happy with what Mufti is doing. However Rashid appealed those daily wagers and others who would be forcibly taken to public meet to raise peaceful voice and use their democratic right inside the venue and ask PM that Kashmiris need no packages but resolution to Kashmir Issue.
