Thirteen persons including cops were injured after a stone-pelting clash erupted between officials and relatives of a land grabber in Mendhar area of Poonch district on Tuesday. Official sources told Srinagar-based news agency GNS that Muhammad Shafi Abdullah of Sanjoot in Compartment number 115 Datha Dhurian had grabbed 51 kanals of forest land on fake documents. In this regard, the sources said, acting on the orders of Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) Poonch a party of Forest Protection Force along with police led by Range Officer Muhammad Bashir Malik went to retrieve the grabbed land. However, the relatives of the land grabber pelted stone on police and Forest employees resulting in injuries to 13 persons. The Range Officer told GNS that despite stone pelting they managed to retrieve the grabbed land measuring 51 kanals.
