Supreme Head JKLF, Amanullah Khan strongly condemns the charges like attempt to murder and waging war against the State slapped on Jammu Kashmir liberation (JKLF) chairman Muhammad Yasin Malik along with senior JKLF leaders including Vice Chairman Showkat Ahmad Bakhshi, Zonal President Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Zonal General Secretary Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Zonal Organizer Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, Ghulam Muhammad Dar, Nazir Ahmad Rather, Ishfaq Hussain and Muneeb Javed Waar who on Sunday have been shifted to Central Jail Srinagar from Kothibagh police station. According to a statement issued to KNS, after remaining under police lock-up in a local police station for three days, police on Sunday, when it was a normal holiday, produced Yasin Malik and others before a magistrate who ordered to send them on ten days judicial remand to Central Jail Srinagar. Though Yasin Malik and others were arrested on 25th of December 2015 during a peaceful protest against growing terrorism in Jammu by the members of Indian civil defense force ‘Village Defense Committee’ (VDC) but FIR shows them arrested on 26th December 2015. Commenting on this undemocratic and inhuman act of Indian authorities Amanullah Khan said that jail is our second home and facing incarcerations’ and oppressions is our passion. He said that rulers and their police cannot force Kashmiris to surrender through these mean and unlawful tactics. He said that rulers in Indian Held Kashmir (IHK) are trying to punish our leadership because they protested against growing terrorism of Indian civil defense force members of ‘Village Defense Committee’ (VDC) in Jammu region and because JKLF stood firmly at the back of our Jammu brethren. He said that on 25th December 2015, Yasin Malik led a peaceful protest rally against VDC and it was police that as usual chose to use brute force against common people. Even people praying on road during Friday prayers were not spared by the police and shells were lobbed at them but ironically on Sunday a case of waging war against state and attempt to murder has been slapped on our leadership. Amanullah Khan said that police and forces at the behest of so-called rulers especially from 2008 have killed hundreds of innocent by shells and bullets and it is them who promote violence. He said that tear gas and pepper gas shells, pellet guns and bullets have not only taken hundreds of innocent lives but hundreds have lost their eye sights, vital organs and many among those still live in trauma. He said that from 25th December 2015, Yasin Malik along with others were kept in police station Kothibagh, Srinagar. They were lodged in a room with open windows and were refused even beddings. He said that during these severe cold days and nights in IHK where the temperature dips to minus 6, police tried every oppressive measure to torture them but we want to convey to so-called rulers that their oppressive, undemocratic and violent measures cannot break people’s will. He said that jails are our second home and facing tortures and incarcerations is our passion and local Mufti regime cannot break the will of people through these Hitler like acts. He said the murder cases against police especially since 2008 until now went unheard and the commissions set to probe these gruesome killings even couldn’t provide justice to the kith’s and kin’s of the deceased people. Khan said that police is trying to prove themselves more loyal than the king in IHK and such worst has been their behavior that one of the arrested leaders Bashir Ahmad Kashmiri, whose maternal uncle Abdul Rahim Bakroo of Bar-Bar Shah Srinagar breathed his last during Saturday and Sunday night, was not given a chance to attend his funeral prayers. While strongly condemning this oppressive behavior of rulers and high handedness of police in IHK, Khan said that this behavior has again exposed the tall claims of healing touch and battle of ideas from the so called rulers and proved that Jammu Kashmir is a police state. Amanullah Khan on the occasion said we have every right to doubt the credentials of the recently resumed bilateral dialogue process between India and Pakistan and that on one hand both the countries have started making the atmosphere conducive but on the other hand Kashmiris still suffer and go through worst kind of state terrorism. Leveling such heinous charges on a tall Kashmiri leader like Yasin Malik is a clear message from India that there is nothing for Kashmir and Kashmiri people. He said we wish both the countries have better relations between themselves and their people prosper by having their bilateral issues resolved. He however reiterated his party stand and said that Kashmir issue is an internationally recognized issue and that it cannot be dealt with bilaterally in the absence of Kashmiri representatives as it is to resolve the question and fate of a nation, not of deaf and dumb animals. Making the concluding remarks at the end of press conference Amanullah Khan urged upon international community to impress upon the Indian authorities and demanded revocation of all falsely levelled cases against these arrested leaders and release them all at earliest.
