Srinagar, Jan 5: While dismissing rumours about Peoples Democratic Party President Mehbooba Mufti taking over as interim Chief Minister of the state following illness of CM Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, senior PDP leader and Government spokesman Naeem Akhtar said that such rumours are “baseless”.
“The rumours are baseless. Nothing of such measure (Mehbooba Mufti taking over as interim CM) has taken place. We expect Mufti Sahab to recover soon,” Naeem Akhtar told KNS over phone from New Delhi.
The minister for education said that the Budget session of the Assembly will be held as per schedule.
“Budget session of the Assembly is still away and it will be as per schedule.12 days is a long time,” Akhtar told KNS.
He said that Director General K Rajendra has his own meeting over security and Chief Secretary B R Sharma had a meeting in the Planning Department.
The PDP leader said the chief minister is showing progress. “Thank God, the treatment has shown very encouraging results. He is much better than he was two days back.”
