Srinagar, January 12: Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Zone Amirakadal today held a condolence meeting to express grief on the sad demise of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir State.
According to a statement issued here, all ward presidents of the Zone Amirakadal attended the condolence meeting which was held in Pirzoo and was presided over by Mohammad Ashraf Dar, PDP Zonal President Amirakadal. Besides Dar, PDP senior leaders including Abdul Hamid Kosheen, Haji Parvez Ahmad, Haji Ali Mohammad Bagaw, Shuja Sarwar, Aijaz Ahmad Rather and Showkat Mohi-ud-Din were present in the meeting.
“I feel that the demise of this political stalwart has created a void in every political sphere of this State. He was the only leader, who personally tried to mitigate the issues related to the people of sections faith and region in Jammu and Kashmir,” Mohammad Ashraf Dar, PDP Zonal President Amirakadal observed in his remarks.
He described Late Mufti Saheb as a real statesman and a thoroughly secular leader whose contributions towards development, political stability and peace and reconciliation will always be remembered and written in golden letter across the sub continent.
Dar said the entire sub continent has lost an eminent and distinguished leader, a true nationalist and a stalwart from Jammu & Kashmir whose dream was to see peace and prosperity in the region.
Expressing profound grief and sorrow over the sad demise of the departed leader, Haji Parvez Ahmad observed that the demise of Mufti Saheb has created a void in the political spectrum of the state which will be very hard to fill.
Speaking on this occasion, Abdul Hamid Kosheen termed Mufti Saheb as a visionary politician and a man of very high political stature who devoted his whole life for the service of poor people of the State.
Expressing deep shock and grief over the demise of this visionary leader, all the speakers highlighted the contributions made by the Late Mufti Saheb. The meeting felt that Mufti Saheb’s presence at this juncture of socio-political movement in Jammu and Kashmir was very essential for the redressal of problems being faced by the people of State.
The meeting recollected and mentioned various facets of life of the deceased leader and his great works pursued for upliftment of the socio-economic scenario of the State.
All the speakers prayed for an eternal peace to the departed soul and courage and fortitude to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss and also extended their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family.
