Hizbul Mujahideen supremo Syed Salahudin has paid rich tributes to the victims of massacres in Gaw Kadal, Handwara and Kupwara in Kashmir. In an emailed statement to KNS, the Hizb commander has regretted the role of international community in resolution of Kashmir dispute, saying that the community has lost its credibility among Muslims. “The massacres in January 1990 in Kashmir were executed under the direction of late Mufti Sayeed and then governor of JK, Jagmohan,” Salahudin said. The Hizb chief appealed to the world community to relook into their role for the resolution of Kashmir dispute. While expressing sympathy and solidarity with the family of Al Umar chief Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar, the HM chief said that his brother-in-law, Sirajudin Farooqi, was forcibly disappeared by Indian army on January 23, 1992 from downtown in Srinagar and is still missing. “Struggle in Kashmir will continue till achievement of freedom,” he said.
