Police Saturday claimed to have arrested four militants of Harkat-ul-Mujahideen in Sangrama area of Baramulla district. A police spokesman said that the arrests were made after police and 52 RR laid a search operation in the area. “During the operation the joint party nabbed two militants Ishfaq Ahmad Sofi alias Umer son of Mushtaq Ahmad of Model Town Sopore, and Aijaz Ahmad Gojri alias Chota Kalimullah son Abdul Rehman Gojri of Old town old town Baramulla. Form their possession one Chinese Pistol, one pistol magazine and two hand grenades and other ammunition was recovered,” the spokesman claimed. He said that investigation led to the arrest of their three more associates Danish Gaffer Gojri alias Kalimullah son of Abdul Gaffar of Drangbal, Baramulla, Javaid Ahmad Dar son of Mohammad Akbar Dar of Khanpora Baramulla and Mohammad Sameer Kandoo alias Sameer Baba son of Ghulam Mohi-u-Din Baba of Shalbaf Mohallah Anchar Soura Srinagar. “Danish and Javaid joined the HuM in September 2015 after they got motivated by Ishfaq who was handled by Sajad Shaheen alias Sajad Afgani of Pak to rejunivate the HuM in the valley. Both of them were in close touch with the said Sajad Afgani through social media,” the spokesman said. The police said that they were planning to carry out attacks in on security forces, VVIPs and on Baramulla highway. The spokesman said that that on November 5 last year last year Ishfaq Sammer hurled grenades on CRPF Bunker in Safa-Kadal, Naid-Kadal, Bilal Colony Soura and Police Station Khanyar. “A Case FIR No. 09/2016 under section 7/25 I.A Act has been registered in Police Station Tazoo and further investigation has been taken up,” he said.
