Breaking silence, the PDP chief Mehbooba Mufti said on Tuesday that the JK-specific Confidence Building Measures (CBMs) would help the new government to work for the overall development and prosperity of the state. According to KNS, Mehbooba said that if the pro-people measures are taken at an earliest by the union government, same would play a vital role in enabling the new government in the state to work for the overall development of the state. She said the decision of her father late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed was correct and that she wants to carry forward his legacy and ideology. “There is a commitment of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed towards the people of his state involved here. We want to carry forward his mission but for doing so, we want concrete assurances from the union government.” She said the new government would work for the equitable growth of all the three regions of the state only when there are specific confidence building measures taken. When asked whether she has appraised the union government about the conditions that she has laid ahead of forming the new government, Mehbooba said these are not the conditions but needs which have to be fulfilled sans any delay.
