Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) chief and legislator from Khansahib, Hakeem Mohammad Yaseen said on Tuesday that PDP finally seems to have understood the cost of joining hands with the ‘communal’ BJP in Jammu and Kashmir. He said there are series of contradictory statements being issued by the PDP leaders at present and same is indicating how much party is confused and in a fix over whether to continue with the coalition. Yaseen maintained that he along with state’s secular forces had been raising the concern about the dangerous consequences of BJP coming to power in the state. “It was PDP which provided BJP the stage for becoming part of the government. It is after the 10 long months that the PDP has finally understood that it committed the blunder,” said the PDF chief. While questioning Mehbooba’s statement over CBMs, Hakeem said how come last year, it took PDP 3 months to enter into alliance with the BJP when things are still at the ‘ground zero’. “Last year, PDP said it took the party 3 months to draft agenda of alliance. If at present, Mehbooba is demanding CBMs from Delhi, what then she had achieved in past 10 months,” Yasin asked. He maintained that it was PDP which was beating the trumpets of good governance and 80 thousand crore package during Modi’s visit. “By looking at the present situation, that was the mirage which PDP was showing to the people. Insidious things are coming to fore now.” Underscoring the need of the secular government in the state, Yaseen said that till the core issue of Kashmir is not addressed, no CBM could yield results in ground and peace would be a distant dream till then.
