The Secretary Tourism Farooq Ahmad Shah launched the JKTDC wall calendar for the year 2016 on the sidelines of TTF Delhi the India’s biggest travel mart for inbound and Domestic Tourists. Farooq Ahmad Shah who is MD JKTDC as well showcased the State’s Tourism potential and declared that the year 2016 will be the year of adventure Tourism for the State. He briefed the audience and travel trade of the country about the adventure tourism potential of the state besides the other tourism products which makes JK state as one of the best in India as the state was judged the no one for the award of adventure tourism potential in the conclave of ADTOI adventure tour operators association of India. Farooq Ahmad Shah said that Haarwan in Kashmir and Sanasar in Jammu will be developed as international spots for paragliding and other adventure activities besides other areas like Patnitop, Sonamarg, Pahalgam and water bodies like Dal lake, Manasbal, Nageen, Wullar, he added that the state has hundreds of small and medium sized lakes which makes it an ideal State for promoting lakes and Water bodies tourism which expands the tourism potential of our state as the JK has all the tourism products and services in one platter which needs to be promoted and explored well for attracting all kinds of tourists from the domestic and international markets.
