CPI (M) leader and MLA Kulgam Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami has condemned the incident involving killing of a youth Muhammad Yaqoob and injuring several nomads allegedly in Police firing yesterday at Saroor, Bari Brahmna in Samba district. In a statement to KNS, Tarigami said the killing of innocent youth could have been prevented had forces used restraint in dealing with the protesting crowd. He said that police must take utmost precautions in any law and order situation and try to show maximum restrain while bringing situation under control. Tarigami has exhorted government to ensure that nomad community feels safe and secure. The CPI (M) leader also visited GMC Jammu and Samba to enquire about the health of injured persons. He expressed sympathy with the bereaved family and urged the administration to provide free medical treatment to the injured. He demanded that a judicial inquiry should be ordered into the incident to bring facts to fore in a time bound manner and to ensure that the culprits are booked accordingly.
