Srinagar, May 19, : Government Thursday appealed all the stakeholders to come forward and suggest how Pandits could be brought back to Kashmir Valley in a dignified manner. “We will get nothing from violence. We suffered a lot in 2008 and 2010 and it is time to move ahead. If anybody including separatists and mainstream parties have a better plan, please do suggest to us, we will follow that and bring back migrated Pandits to Valley,” Government spokesperson and incumbent Minister for Education Nayeem Akhtar told reporters.
Addressing a press conference here, Akhtar said that people of Kashmir eagerly await the return of Pandits. “We have a plan, but if anybody has a better plan than us, please do suggest to us, we will debate over it and hopefully will arrive at any conclusion. Pandits, we know can’t live outside the limits of society. They are the part of our society and they have be live in the society,” he said.
In response to a volley of questions, Nayeem Akhtar said that Government wants peace to prevail. “Let me clear it, no land for Sainik Colony has been identified or allotted. Please give peace a chance and don’t try to derail it. Under Article 370 this state occupies a unique position and our government is committed to safeguard the special position of the state,” he said. (CNS)
