Sopore: The inhabitants of Gulabad and Adipora of Sopore town in north Kashmir’s baramulla district alleged roads and buildings department for failed to repair inner link roads which are in a dilapidated condition.
The residents alleged that most of the roads in the town are dotted with potholes, which poses risk of accidents.
The road stretch from Police station to Gulabad is dotted with potholes. “The road link was repaired before 3 years , Now those unrepaired portions have turned into craters posing risk of accidents to the commuters,” Hafeez Mir a resident of Gulabad. He further added that due to pathetic condition of the road, students, employees and also patients face immense hardships to reach their respective destinations.
Residents of Adipora also expressed resentment over dilapidated roads. “We are suffering as major repairs or macadamisation has been carried since long,” said Muhammed Younis, a resident of Adipora.
Meanwhile when contacted concern Xen he told that once the department will receive funds, the work on roads will resume.
