Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chief Yasin Malik was arrested from his office in Abi Guzar locality of Srinagar said an official source of outfit in a statement to Kashmir Despatch.
The statement further added that large number of police appeared at Abi Guzar office of JKLF where they apprehend JKLF chief Yasin Malik.
The arrests come on the eve of a joint shutdown called by the pro-freedom leaders including Hurriyat (G) chairman Syed Ali Geelani, Malik and Mirwaiz.
The trio has also called for peaceful protests after Friday prayers against the proposed Sainik and Pandit colonies in valley.
