Hamre, 18 June 2016. Iftar was hosted for the locals at Army Camp Hamre to inculcate the spirit of bonhomie and brotherhood today. The celebration commenced with a warm welcome extended by the Battalion’s Religious Teacher Subedar Tahir Hafiz who also led the Magrib prayers.
Over 700 persons from all walks of life attended the Iftar which included a host of religious teachers from all neighboring villages. The Iftar feast followed the Maghrib prayers. The most wonderful sight was hundreds of children and young men who joined the Dawat-e-Iftar along with the elders. Army’s announcement of the upcoming event of ‘Qirat Competition’ which will be organised at GHSS, Goshbug after Aasar prayers on 23 June 2016 was greeted with cheers. Invitation was extended to all ‘Qarees’ to showcase their talent.
Even long after the festivities, groups of civilians and Army men were seen exchanging pleasantries and bonding. Maulana Manzoor Ahmad Parra, Head of Dar-ul-Uloom, Aima Buran, Pattan distributed numerous copies of Quran-e-Majeed to those present. May such events continue to happen regularly said Mr Mushtaq Mir of Pattan.
