Muhammad Akbar Lone, MLA Sonawari, said in the Lower House today that the government claims to provide corruption-free governance in the state.
“However, in Shadipora area in my constituency, the government has allotted work to PDP workers without issuing any tenders. Where are e-tenders in this work? I want an answer from the government,” Lone said.
Lone said that he will resign from the seat if the government proved that it has issued tenders for the work.
The legislator raised the issue during Question Hour.
He said that the project estimated at a cost of Rs 399 and work for Rs 35-50 lakh has been started. “But no tendering has been issued. This is bander baant,” he said.
The NC legislator demanded investigation into the allotment of work.
However, the government said that it will look into the issue.
“If work has been allotted without tender, we will take action,” Minister for Rural Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs, Abdul Haq Khan informed the House. KNS
