Srinagar, June 21 : PDP MLA from Rafiabad constituency Yawar Mir Tuesday said that the kins of civilians killed in Macchil fake encounter are yet to get jobs under SRO-43.
Speaking during the discussion on allotment of grants for Tourism, Home and other departments held by the Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, Yawar Mir said that besides the kins of Machhil victims, hundreds of other people have been deprived of the jobs under the policy by the government.
“Only those people get the jobs who approach legislators, ministers and other officers. But those who do not get access to the power corridors hardly get these jobs,” Mir said.
The legislator said that GAD which is considered the “brain of the government” has the responsibility to clear these cases.
“But there is delay in completing the cases. An SRO case has been cleared in 2004 by GAD, but the applicant is yet to get the job,” he said.
He demanded that the government must swiftly address these cases so that the persons whose only source of income is these jobs could run their families.
He demanded that the government must issue directions to heads of the departments to address these cases as swift as possible. (KNS)
