Srinagar, June 24 : An army man was critically injured in a landmine blast in Kamal Kote sector near Line of Control of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Friday.
“Deepak Verma of 20 Sikh Regiment along with his colleagues was patrolling the mountain ridges near Buchar Post along the fence in Kamal Kote sector today late in the afternoon when he stepped over a landmine laid by the forces to prevent infiltration, exploded with a bang”, a police official told .
He said that the soldier received serious injuries in the explosion. He was airlifted to army’s 92 base hospital at Badami Bagh, Srinagar for specialized treatment. His condition is said to be critical.(GNS)
