Police on Friday arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 5 kg charas from their possession in Wasikhan area of Sumbal in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.
An official said police party laid a naka near Wasikhan Sumbal-Hajin road after reliable information.
“During checking, 5 kg charas was recovered from the possession of two notorious drug peddlers,” he said.
The official said that the duo was travelling in a Ford Figo car bearing registration no. JK05D-6178.
“The accused have been identified as Rayees Ahmad Dar son of Muhammad Yousuf Dar and Javid Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-din Dar both residents of Shahgund Hajin,” he said.
A case FIR No. 94/2016 u/s 8/20 NDPS Act has been registered and further investigation have been set in motion, said the official.
