Reinforcing its tradition of ‘AWAM FIRST’ the Dagger Division at Baramulla hosted a grand ‘Dawat-e-Iftaar’ on the eve of Zuma-ul-Vida Organised at the Dagger Artillery Brigade, Peace, Harmony and Fraternity were at display at the Iftaar wherein Politicians, Civil Administration Officials, Prominent Citizens, Religious Heads and Army officers jointly vowed to ensure Peace, Brotherhood and Prosperity in the Kashmir Valley.

Major General J S Nain, SM, GOC Dagger Division, as the chief host welcomed the 300 odd guests which included the four MLAs of the District i.e. Jenab Javaid Ahmed Beigh (Baramulla), Jenab Abbas Wani (Gulmarg), Jenab Yawar Mir (Rafiabad) and Jenab Md Shafi (Uri). All major political parties to include NC, Cong, BJP and PDP were also represented by their District Presidents and fellow leaders.
Prominent Civil Administration officials including Sh Uttam Chand, IPS, DIG NKR, Mr Nasir Naqash, DDC, Baramulla, Jenab Imtiyaz Hussain Mir, SSP, Baramulla and other senior officials openly interacted with one and all showing signs of complete synergy in the District. With true secular colours abound, prominent Sikh brethren from the DGPC,
Christians from St Joseph’s Church and Hindus were also seen actively participating in the rich rituals in praise of Allah – The Almighty.
Maintaining the traditions the Dagger Gunners had made special arrangements for the traditional namaaz which was offered by Qari Rayees Ahmad of the Teradari Darool-ul-ulum. The presence of a large
number of religious leaders added the spiritual fervour to the whole event. The Dagger Division again proved that the amalgamation of Army, Police, Civil officials and Legislatures with prominent citizens from all walks and religions is a strong indicator of PEACE and ROSPERITY in Baramulla region. This unification of thoughts and deeds is a real motivator for other regions as well.
