Srinagar, July 23: Six Lashkar-e-Toiba activists were arrested by Special Operation Group (SOG) of police in Srinagar city last evening.
A police official told news agency GNS that acting on a specific information, a joint team of SOG, police and CRPF laid a naka at Tangpora bypass on Sunday evening.
During the searches, six LeT workers have been arrested along with an AK-47 and other war like stores, he said, adding that two vehicles have also been seized.
The official termed the arrest of the six LeT activists as a major success as the members were scheduled to meet their counterparts in north Kashmir as part of arms deal.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and started further investigations in to it. (GNS)
