Baramulla , 26 Sep : Dagger Volleyball Premier League was organised by Dagger Artillery Brigade from 23 Sep to 26 Sep 2018 under the aegis of Dagger Division to provide an opportunity to the youth to showcase their talent and promote sports culture in the valley. The culmination of the event symbolised the message of greater bonhomie between JAWAN and AWAM. The motive was to engage the youth to channelise their energy towards a constructive path which should lead them to a bright future.
The event attracted a large number of locals and total twelve teams participated in Dagger Volleyball Premier League. The final match was played between Super Challengers & Spiker Punch, teams of 19 Artillery Brigade with tremendous zeal & effervescence. Major General Gulab Singh Rawat, General Officer Commanding, Dagger Division was the Chief Guest for this event. Military & Civil dignitaries including Commanders of Dagger Artillery Brigade, DC Baramulla, Comdt 53 CRPF, SSP Baramulla and District Coordinator Nehru Yuva Kendra were also present to grace the occasion. Spiker Punch team won the final match and lifted the Dagger Volleyball 2018 Trophy.
The Chief Guest felicitated the young winners who performed well during the event and appreciated the efforts put in and encouraged the youth to tread the right path. The winners were awarded with cash prizes, medals, sports rig & trophy.
The winners & runner-up teams have been selected to represent Dagger Division in upcoming Chinar Volleyball Premier League. Positive response from the youth has highlighted the rapport between the Army and AWAM, strengthening the hopes of peace and prosperity in the region.
