Lightning strike kills dozens of livestock in Uri

Dozens of livestock were killed on Saturday after lightning struck upper reaches of Uri sector in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Reports from ground zero said atleast 100 sheeps of two families were killed after the lightning strike in Kalgie village, some 10 kilometers away from main town Uri, on Saturday evening.

The livestock belonged to Nazir Ahmad Poswal and Mohammed Sharief Poswal.

Officials said lightning struck a JKPCC hut where the shepherds had kept the livestock after heavy rains in the area.
