25th Muharram procession: Traffic advisory issued for Sgr-Bla highway

Baramulla, Jul 31 : In view of the Muharram procession on Thursday, the Traffic Police here have issued an advisory along Srinagar-Baramulla highway to ensure smooth movement and minimize inconvenience to the public.

Vehicular movement from Harhtrath to Narbal along the Srinagar-Baramulla highway will be affected from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM on 25th Muharram. Motorists are advised to avoid unnecessary travel on this route during the procession, reads an advisory.

“To facilitate hassle-free movement, the following alternate routes have been designated: Srinagar bound vehicles from Kupwara, Handwara, Sopore shall be allowed via Hygan→ Sumbal → HMT Srinagar, Srinagar bound vehicles from Baramulla/Uri to be allowed via Hamrey Gate → Pattan → Sumbal → HMT Srinagar, Srinagar bound vehicles from Hamrey, Pattan to be allowed via Harhtrath Bridge → Khanpath → Shadipora → HMT Srinagar, while as North Kashmir bound Heavy Motor Vehicles (HMVs) shall be allowed via Narbal → Magam → Kungumdara → Khore → Hanjiwera → Pattan, similarly North Kashmir bound Light Motor Vehicles (LMVs) shall be allowed via Narbal → Kanihama → Nooripora → Archanderhama → Gund Khoja Qasim → Jeel Bridge → Pattan”, it reads.

The Traffic Police Department regrets any inconvenience caused and seeks public cooperation to ensure a smooth procession, the advisory reads.
