67 persons arrested in drugs related case, 4 slapped with PSA: SSP Ganderbal

Srinagar, November 3 : To eradicate the menace of drugs, Ganderbal police has registered 46 cases and arrested 67 persons including 4 of them were slapped with PSA in one year.
SSP Ganderbal Muhammad Khalil Poswal said, “Society has a primary role in eradication of drug menace. In last one year 46 cases were registered and 67 persons arrested and PSA was slapped in four of them who were suppliers or involved in drug peddling.”

He said police has launched awareness at village level to educate people about drug menace.
” Some of the boys who had become drug addicts were sent to Srinagar drug de-addiction center and with doctors help were rehabilitated. This is bigger problem than Militancy. I request everyone to join police in eradicating the menace,” he said.
SSP also said 75 teams had desired to play in cricket tournament and 65 got selected.
“For those who were not selected, Police organised different game tournaments for them so that they don’t get discouraged. We are organising singing tournaments. Ganderbal police has also proposed singing and art center. That will also be completed soon.”
He appealed parents to take care of their children.
“We are doing everything for the youth so thay theh keep themselves away from Militancy and drugs.
He appealed the parents to take care of their children at different stages of life whether it is of health and career.”
