‘New academic session to begin after culmination of ongoing exams’

SRINAGAR, Mar 9: The Director of School Education, Kashmir Tassaduq Hussain, said on Thursday that action will be taken against those private institutions that will charge annual fees.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a function, as per the Kashmir Despatch Correspondent, Tassaduq Hussain said that the department will act tough if a complaint about the charging of an annual fee is received against any private institution. He said people need to report it to us, and we will accordingly initiate action.
“From wherever we will receive any written complaint about any private institution charging an annual fee, we will definitely act tough against such institutions,” he said.
He said the department is fully prepared for the start of a new academic session following the culmination of ongoing exams. “The ground staff is all set with all necessary modalities”, he added.
Pertinently, the J&K Committee for Fixation and Regulation of Fee of Private Schools (FFRC) last month also directed all schools in the valley not to charge annual fees for the period from November 2022 to March 2023 following the change of the academic calendar by the government.
“Any breach of this order will result in initiating action according to law,” FFRC chairman Justice MH Attar (retd) said.
Meanwhile, Kashmir Despatch received many complaints against private schools in the valley for resorting to alleged illegal profiteering amid the reopening of the schools’ post-winter vacations.
