Narendra Modi Stadium to host 2023 ODI World Cup final, 48 matches to be played in 12 cities

Date:

The 2023 ODI World Cup final will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium on November 19. The ten-team competition will be played for 46 days with a total of 48 matches.

A report by ESPNcricinfo states that Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi, Dharamsala, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Lucknow, Indore, Rajkot, and Mumbai are in contention to host the games.

The International Cricket Council hasn’t announced the schedule. The delay has been due to the tax exemption issue and visa clearance for the Pakistan cricket team.

This is the first time that the entire edition is being hosted by India. The Narendra Modi Stadium, which has a capacity of 130,000 people, will become the third stadium in India to host a Cricket World Cup final after Eden Gardens (1987) and Wankhede Stadium (2011).
