Hajj pilgrims protests in Bandipora against Bank Branch

Bandipora, Apr 04:- The selected pilgrims for Hajj 2023 from different areas of Sonawari, assembled at Irrigation Colony Sumbal, today staged a silent protest against the State Bank of India branch in the area.

The pilgrims while speaking with the reporters complained that the bank branch is facing a severe shortage of staff, which has caused them significant problems.

The protestors raised their voices against the branch manager and other bank officials, demanding immediate action to address the shortage of employees.

The pilgrims shared their frustration and discomfort, expressing their concerns about the bank’s ability to handle their financial transactions during their pilgrimage.

The selected pilgrims for Hajj 2023 appealed to higher authorities to intervene and resolve the issue as soon as possible. They emphasized that the lack of staff in the bank branch could adversely affect their religious journey, and it is essential to have efficient and prompt banking services available.

Meanwhile, when contacted, the concerned branch manager acknowledged the issue and assured the protestors that he had already forwarded mail to the higher authorities. He further stated that the problem might be resolved by the next day.

“The shortage of staff in the State Bank of India branch in Sumbal is a significant concern, especially for the selected pilgrims for Hajj 2023. The authorities need to address the matter promptly, to ensure the smooth financial transactions for the pilgrims and their safe and comfortable pilgrimage”,locals said.
