Pulwama: Shoaib Amin, a young & emerging athlete from Awantipora area of Pulwama district has made his hometown proud by winning a silver medal in the World Mix Boxing Championship held in Kashmir this Year, a few days back.
Shoaib, besides a skilled boxer, is also a versatile athlete who has excelled in other sports as well. He is a national-level player in Throw-ball, and is playing games like Wushu, Pencak Silat, and other martial art sports.
While talking to Kashmir Despatch, he said that he is not just focused on his athletic career; but also has a noble ambition to make his Kashmir, a drug-free region.
He believes that sports can be a powerful tool to prevent drug abuse and promote a healthy lifestyle among young people, while he aims to use his influence as an athlete to inspire and educate young people about the harmful effects of drugs.
The young Shoaib’s success in sports and his commitment to his community have earned him recognition and respect. He is currently providing coaching to many young aspiring athletes in and around his hometown.
