Delegates convention of Trade Union Coordination centre held at Tral

Pulwama: A Delegates convention of Trade Union Coordination centre (TUCC) was held at Town Hall Tral in Pulwama District in South Kashmir on 28th of May 2023, in which hundreds of delegates from different departments and associations 

participated.

On the occasion, the delegates deliberated upon the long pending genuine demands of temporary workers, seasonal workers, 

Govt Employees, un-organised workers working in different departments and other sectors in the erstwhile state of J&K.

In the convention, Shri SP Tiwari, National, General Secretary TUCC and Member Standing committee of ESIC, Govt of India was the Chief Guest along with the Guest of Honour National Secretary TUCC and Member BOCWW of Delhi Shir Ramender Kumar. 

The convention was organised by the Zonal Committee of TUCC South Kashmir under the leadership of National Secretary and President TUCC Mr. Syed Gh.Rasool Geelani.

While addressing the convention Shri S.P Tiwari National General Secretary TUCC assured the delegates in the convention that the issue pertaining to the working force of J&K which were highlighted in the convention will be put before the centre government and UT administration for early settlement especially implementation of the 

minimum wages act as per the components of revised rates as par with the other states and UTs of the Country.

Mr. Tiwari and Mir. Ramendar Kumar National Secretary TUCC urged upon the UT administration for early regularization of all the categories of temporary workers engaged after 1994 upto 2015 and utilization of services of seasonal workers as per the provisions in the constitution and are working tirelessly on meager wages which is sheer injustice with these temporary workers.

They emphasized upon the UT Government to implement minimum wages in favour of all the temporary workers as per the calculated addition regular revision of the minimum wages which is very common for enhancement of time bound revision of minimum wages in each and every state. 

They also pointed out various loopholes adopted by the recent report of the Minimum wages advisory board of J&K UT regarding the implementation of minimum wages in favour of these workers. 

They also mentioned that Dr. Anoop Satpathy’s led task force on minimum wages of Ministry of Labour & Employment frame work should be adopted to end the discrimination with these poor workers. 

Mr Tiwari and Ramender Kumar also appreciated the role of Syed Ghulam Rasool Geelani and his team for their contribution towards the working force of J&K where it is very difficult to organise Trade Union Moment. 

While addressing the delegates in the convention Mr Syed Ghualm Rasool Geelani National Secretary, TUCC J&K appealed central and UT Governments to take necessary steps for regularization issue and implementation of need base minimum wages act in favour of all the categories of temporary workers and seasonal workers of J&K UT. 

Mr Geelani also appealed the Governments take up the issue of government employees of J&K with the union & UT Governments for their carrier progression in terms of removal of pay-anomalies and amendments in their 

Recruitment Rules to create the promotion benefits. 

They also demanded enhancement of honorarium of Anganwadi workers & helpers at par with the neighbouring states of the country, and raise of fitment factor from 2.57 times to 3.68 times which was ignored during the implementation of 7th pay commission. 

They appealed central & UT Government to implement central pattern in favour of the employees of J&K Government, & also demanded regularization of left over daily wagers under SRO-64 who were engaged before 1994 in forest, social forestry and PHE department and change of designation of helpers who were recently regularized.
