Maiden Edition Of Tanghdar Inter School Talent Hunt Competition Held in Karnah

Kupwara, Jul 20 : The Karnah Valley is known as the educational hub in the entire Kashmir region especially for schooling upto the intermediate level. More than 150 schools comprising of the government and private school exist in the valley. With the aim of providing an opportunity to the students to showcase their talent, inculcate healthy competitive spirit amongst different schools of the valley and to ignite a tradition of Inter School Competitions, the first ever Inter School Talent Hunt Competition was organised with effect from 13 July 2023 to 18 July 2023 at the Army Goodwill School, Hajinar under the aegis of the Shakti Vijay Brigade.

The competition comprised of seven different activities to include Singing, Dancing, Painting, Debate, Innovation Display, Badminton and Kabbadi. Students from all age groups were targeted for participation in the subject competition.

A total of 13 school participated in the competition which became the talk of the town being the first of its kind and the josh and enthusiasm amongst the students of the participating schools was a treat to witness.

The teachers and staff of all the participating schools were involved in the conduct of the events and responsibilities of judging the events were distributed in a holistic fashion.

The members of the Youth Panchayat’s also contributed in terms of coordinating with the different schools, ensuring wide publicity of the event and in ensuring smooth conduct of events. Apart from the Kabbadi Competition which was conducted at the premises of the Govt Degree College Kandi Karnah, all other events were conducted in the premises of the Army Goodwill School, Hajinar.

A total strength of 160 students which include 70 boys and 90 girls participated in the subject competition.

The event culminated with a prize distribution ceremony on 19 July 2023 wherein the winner and the runners up in each event were felicitated.

Army Goodwill School Hajinar stood overall first in the competition followed by New light Public School Tangdhar Karnah securing the second place.

Seeing the interest generated by this competition amongst the students of the Karnah Valley, the need of having more number of such competitions in future seems to be a mandatory requirement and will lead to providing the much needed exposure to the talented young students of the valley.
