Under the ongoing ‘Meri Mitti Mera Desh’ campaign, the Muncipal Council Sopore today organized a plantation drive ( Vasuda Vandhan) to commemorate the 75 years of Independence being celebrated as Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
The drive took place at the Open Air Gym premises in Sopore’s Ashpeer locality.
President Musarat Kar of MC Sopore led the drive, accompanied by other officials and employees.
Musarat Kar highlighted the importance of the ‘Vasuda Vandhan’ initiative, which aims to instill pride and responsibility towards the environment.
The Municipal Council of Sopore is dedicated to supporting all pro-environment initiatives she said.
She emphasized that such initiatives are crucial for a healthy society, as deforestation has been increasing and affecting both the environment and people’s lives. It is the responsibility of every individual to contribute to a green and healthy life for the benefit of society she added.
