The Sopore town in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, once known for a hotbed of militancy, witnessed a historic moment as members of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday hoisted the national flag on the 77th Independence Day, symbolising a new era of hope and development.
Reyaz Ahmed Dentoo, in charge of the BJP Sopore unit, along with other members, unfurled the tricolour at the Iqbal market in Sopore, Embracing the momentum of change.
It is indeed a new dawn for Sopore, as the town sheds the shackles of its troubled past and embraces a future guided by the principles of peace, unity, and progress. Reyaz said the BJP’s unwavering commitment to the town’s growth, coupled with the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, signals a promising era of transformation and prosperity for Sopore and its residents.
He said people are now mature enough and have realised what they lost by being part of anti-government activities. “It’s a change and a new beginning for the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” Dentoo said.
