Sopore, 15 August – As part of the ongoing “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” Theme “Meri Maati Mera Desh” celebrations, a heartfelt tribute was paid to the brave martyr of our nation, Abdul Aziz Hakeem, by inaugurating a Martyrdom Wall in his name at his native place, Tarzoo Sopore.
The solemn ceremony was graced by the presence of Abdul Aziz Hakeem’s grandson, Hakeem Junaid, who unveiled the Martyrdom wall amidst a gathering of fellow citizens, officials, and dignitaries.
Abdul Aziz Hakeem, a symbol of unwavering dedication to our nation, sacrificed his life for the cause of peace and freedom. The Rural Development Department of Sopore took a momentous step in remembering and honoring his sacrifice, showcasing the spirit of unity and patriotism that binds our nation together.
During the inauguration, Hakeem Junaid expressed his gratitude to the Honorable bPrime Minister, the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, the Block Development Officer (BDO) of Sopore, and the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Sopore for their unwavering support in commemorating the martyrs. He also emphasized the importance of regular acknowledgment and recognition of our martyrs’ sacrifices, urging the government to extend its support to the families of martyrs beyond just Independence and Republic Days.
He emphasized that government officials should actively engage with martyr families to understand their challenges and address their concerns on an ongoing basis.
The event not only served as a remembrance of the sacrifices made by heroes like Abdul Aziz Hakeem but also highlighted the need for a continuous effort to support and uplift the families of martyrs who have given their all for the country.
