Sopore Hosts Electrifying Walur Premier League Final Resembling World Cup Spectacle

In a cricket showdown that echoed the grandeur of a World Cup event, Sopore, situated in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district, played host to a thrilling Walur Premier League (WPL) final on Saturday.

The climactic clash between Jana Cricket Club and Sultan Warriors not only drew an unprecedented and record-breaking crowd but also delivered a cricketing spectacle that will be etched in memory.

The Walur Premier League, renowned as one of the most highly anticipated cricket tournaments in the valley, reached its pinnacle on Saturday in the bustling town of Sopore.

Enthusiastic spectators from across the region flocked to the Sheikhul Alam sports field in Tarzoo to witness the grand finale of the tournament and to rally behind their beloved cricketers.

Under the patronage of Nuzhat Gul, General Secretary of JK Sports, the event also saw the presence of prominent figures including Dr. Raies Ahmad, SDPO of Sopore, Dr. Hilal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Inspector Zia-ul-Rehman, Station House Officer of Tarzoo, and Inspector Irfan Ahmad.

The Sultan Warriors set a formidable target of 148 runs in their allotted 20 overs, showcasing a spirited performance that fueled the competitive atmosphere. However, the Jana Cricket Club exhibited their mettle by achieving the chase in a mere 12 overs, displaying exceptional batting prowess that secured their victory.

The encounter was a showcase of riveting moments, unveiling the remarkable talent and skills possessed by the players. The outstanding showings from both sides intensified the excitement, creating an indelible experience for the enthralled spectators.
