TRAL, Aug 28: The Forest department in Tral on Monday organised a program on Biodiversity Management, which was held in the presence of the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Awantipora, Waseem Farooq Mir.
The Range Officer (RO) Tral, Block Forest Officers, Bio-diversity Committee members, Tral range field staff, and sarpanchs attended the meeting.
On the occasion, the speakers talked about the biodiversity of Jammu and Kashmir and threw light on various types of Forests in the valley.
They also spoke about the Non-timber forest products (NTFPs), which are crucial in driving the economy of communities living inside or around forests.
Meanwhile, DFO, Waseem Farooq Mir, during his visit to Tral inspected boundary pillars at Karmulla Block, and later visited Forest Block Lam as well, along with other officials of the department.
