As a social responsibility initiative, the Indian Army organised an interactive session on Women Empowerment highlighting the Importance of Women in a progressive society at Govt Girls High School, Kamalkote.
The event was attended by a total of 50 girl students from the school. The event commenced with Mr Abdul Hamid Sheikh, Headmaster of School highlighting the importance of education in empowering women and siting examples of exemplary women role models who have made the country proud and motivating students to script the future of a “Progressive Kashmir” with the Power of Knowledge.
The chief guest of the event, Mrs Najima Parveen, BA M.Ed, then addressed the students and highlighted the role of women in shaping the mindset and cultural belief system of society. She elaborated on the need for remolding stereotypes, fostering a culture of respect, inclusion, and equal opportunities for all. She concluded with women empowerment being an important facet in shaping the pathway to a “Progressive and Peaceful Kashmir”.
The event was met with an overwhelming response from the students who actively contributed to the interactive session thereafter. The students expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for the sincere efforts undertaken towards the wholistic development of society.
