Sopore, Sep 30: The district-level concluding ceremony of the Rashtriya POSHAN (Prime Minister’s Overarching Scheme for Holistic Nutrition) Maah-2023 was held on Saturday in Duroo village of Sopore in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Sopore Shabir Ahmad Raina was the chief guest on the occasion.
On the occasion, Fayaz Ahmad Tantary, Gazala Gul supervisor for ICDS project Zaingeer, and Parvaiz Ahmad Khawaja were also present. Besides, the event witnessed the participation of Aganwadi workers.
In Zaingeer Belt of Sopore, there are a total of 209 centers, and the total number of students enrolled is around 7506.
On the occasion, various speakers highlighted the aims and objectives of the PoshanAbhiyan program.
ADC Sopore, on the occasion, remarked that these initiatives have reduced the cases of malnourishment to a considerable extent.
ADC Sopore, on the occasion, lauded the efforts of the department for exemplary work in the PoshanAbhiyan program, which has resulted in improvements in various indicators of the Sopore belt.
He said ground-level workers at Mission Poshan (ICDS) play a significant role in the proper mental as well as physical development of the children. The well-being of children is essential for the country’s development, he added.
Pertinently, the focus of Abhiyaan is to place emphasis on the nutritional status of adolescent girls, pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children aged 0–6 years.
